Biochemical assay plates

Optimal plate height and manufacturing tolerances allow reader optics to be as close to the plate as possible, avoiding well-to-well signal crosstalk. Our microplates are developed and tested to work in combination with the imaging algorithms of our multimode readers, offering assured performance. Microplate well diameter is optimal to work with the Spark® system’s bright field imaging module – critical for confluence assessments.

Black and white biochemical assay plates are designed for fluorescence and luminescence measurement assays.

The low auto-phosphorescence of our white biochemical plates helps to reduce pre-measurement incubation times, while our unique combination of black microplates plates and black lids allows uninterrupted measurement of light-sensitive assays using Spark’s unique Lid Lifter™ system.

White biochemical assay plates

Most white microplates load up with photons when kept under normal laboratory light. This can critically influence the background of luminescence assays, especially when measured in highly sensitive luminescence reader, such as Spark.

Designed for luminescence, TR-FRET and Alpha technology assays, Tecan white biochemical assay plates enable immediate measurements while still offering good results.

Black biochemical assay plates

Intended for use in fluorescence assays, including fluorescence polarization (FP), time-resolved fluorescence (TRF) and TR-FRET applications.

Biochemical assay plate lids

Tecan biochemical assay plates are available with a choice of two low-profile plate lids – black and clear – helping to ensure that assays with long incubation times will not be affected by evaporation.

We offer a convenient solution for fluorescence assays that require long incubations in the dark. Simply use a black biochemical assay plate and lid in combination with Spark’s Lid Lifter, and incubate for as long as required. Using a magnetic disc attached to the plate lid, the Lid Lifting can automatically remove the plate lid to perform measurements at specified time intervals.
